Import Sourcing Manager - Position Closed

Leading Importer is seeking to immediately recruit a dynamic, hands-on individual with strong communication skills and multi-tasking capabilities, for the position of sourcing manager.
The import manager’s job responsibilities are mainly (not limited to) the following:
- Source all types of knit and woven items.
- Building and maintaining the vendor base including educating and growing the vendors; working with vendors on continuous improvement plans to meet Ethical Sourcing Standards
- Costing of new styles and negotiating prices with vendors
- Planning and allocating of orders by closely watching/analyzing the vendors on their capacity, strength, overall performance, and reliability
- Managing and giving directions to the import coordinator
This manager should posses the following qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years experience sourcing
- Experience and contacts in Bangladesh, China, India, Vietnam, and Cambodia
- Experience in sourcing for mass merchant retailers, Harts, Giant Tiger, Walmart
- Knowledge of knit items, woven, and outerwear
- Computer literate, Excel, Power Point
- Ability to travel as needed, but 3 to 4 trips duration about 2 to 3 weeks each is the norm
- Organized, focused, energetic person capable of managing and supervising production management team
- Good verbal communication for working on programs with merchandising and sales teams
