Style Exchange Opening Event A Success
| Coin de Boutique |
A cup of French vanilla in one hand, in which I got on the way there, and my notebook in the other, I slightly struggled to reach into my bag to get my camera. An energetic saleswoman named Angie then kindly offered to hold my cup for me as I got my camera out. She then told me about the one-night only promotion in which everything in the store was 20% off. Ever-y-thing.

It seemed like customers and the media were enjoying themselves quite a bit in this new store owned by Mark Batchoun. The first one was opened in Montreal in 2000. This is the tenth Style Exchange store, which conveniently celebrates the 10th anniversary of its first opening.

It was more than just a "look at our merchandise and buy things" kind of night. The social atmosphere was incredible. People helped themselves to bottles of Fiji water or glasses of white wine, which were freely offered near the entrance. It made the customer feel most welcome. There was also a table filled with sweet candies from Sparkles Confections candy store. A couple of women from Sparkles walked around the store with silver trays in hand filled with an assortment of candies for customers (I was happy with my Tootsie Rolls, hehe).
The black and white chalkboard styled walls provided a nice artistic backdrop to the colorful merchandise on display. The racks of clothes were very organized and the jeans were neatly folded – do you expect anything less from Style Exchange? Their racks and tables were filled with popular European and American brands such as Diesel, Rock & Republic, Lady Dutch, Miss Sixty, and much more. Style Exchange carries womenswear, menswear, and undergarments, while the adjoining shop-in-shop Little Burgundy flagship store carries the latest in footwear and accessories – all in all, offering the complete trendy look for the youthful urban fashionista.

It’s safe to say that the entire event was a success. With a location in the heart of downtown Montreal, especially near the premises of Concordia University, I think the new Style Exchange would do relatively well. Their summer shoes are calling my name, so I know I’ll definitely be back.
