Glossybox comes to Montreal
If you've been following, or even trying to keep up with the many new online fashion companies being born every other day, you're bound to feel overwhelmed. But when a newbie like Glossybox comes along to Canada (after months of success in Europe), complete with instructions on how it's going to make your make-up life easier and keep you abreast of the latest trends, both while saving you money, it makes you take notice. The folks at Glossybox were very kind to send me my first box of goodies, and I absolutely love every product in it. Not just the products are amazing, but the packaging and keepsake box (with labels) are attractive and practical too.
Fashion with Moral Fibers
When social entrepreneurship and fashion come together right in my backyard, I'm always interested to learn more. Which why I was eager to meet with Ben Gruber, the CFO of a young company, with business savvy to drive social change. Montreal-based Moral Fibers, gives artists in Haiti the opportunity to pull themselves out of poverty through a full-time job creating art for fashion. The company's mission in short: Sport a Moral Fibers shirt and wear the difference you want to see in the world!
Time to Occupy Montreal Fashion
Flaunt Your Toned Arms this Holiday Season
I hear so many women complain about the "turkey neck" that wags underneath their arms, of which they are referring to are their triceps. Come summer time and holiday season, many women forgo wearing sleeveless outfits because they don't want to expose these "jiggly" parts. If you would like to go sleeveless and this is something that has bothered you in the past, it is the triceps you must tone - the muscles that run on the backside of our upper arms from our shoulders to our elbows.
Demystifying Catchy Food Phrases
When we go grocery shopping we've got to be more mindful about the foods we choose. We should be aware of and truly understand, the catch phrases and labelling on food packaging. Fat free may mean very little fat, but may mean the product is high in sugar. We should try to educate ourselves as best possible, in order to make truly health conscious choices when shopping. Listed below are the most common phrases you’ll see marked on common food items, and I will try to demystify them and explain really what they mean.
Not Happy With Your Reebok Toning Shoes? Get a refund
Do you remember back in the spring of 2009 Reebok came out with new running shoes called Easy Tone? They claimed that these new shoes were a quick fix to toning legs and hamstrings. I remember very well because I had several clients ask me if they would work, and I even wrote an article about it right here questioning these “miracle toning shoes”.
Fashion for the Everyday Princess by Cydney Mar
Remember when I mentioned Cydney? Originally from Vancouver, she is a powerhouse of talent and business finesse - both rolled into one? Her Montreal born fashion brands are stoked for success, and as you continue reading you will see why. It's not just that I love promoting Montreal's fashion talent.
Tennis Minus a Tennis Elbow
It is summer time and that means more outdoor activities, and one of my favourites being tennis. Personally I love tennis because it is a social sport; let’s face it whoever heard of playing tennis alone?! You get to be with friends, it gives you a great cardio workout and it’s just plain fun.
