Amazing Ab Exercises

Crystal Champagne
With the intense heat these days it really feels like summer is here, and along with heat comes less clothing and less clothing means more body awareness particularly around the waist line. If you are banging out the boring crunches in hopes of flattening your stomach it’s a good start however, there are some good exercises that use the BOSU ball that will take off the inches and target muscles beyond your abs such as your stabilizers. Here are a few body shaping exercises that you can incorporate into your regular exercise routine.

BOSU V-up with Medicine Ball

  1. Sit on the center of BOSU with legs extended in front of you, knees slightly bent, put a 2-4 lbs ball between thighs. Lean back, place hands on the floor behind the BOSU for balance.
  2. Contract abs and slowly raise your legs toward the ceiling, hold for 2 seconds and return to starting position. Perform 1-3 sets of 20 repetitions.

BOSU Dynamic Plank

  1. Start in a push up position, with hands on BOSU and feet hip width apart.
  2. Lower your right forearm onto BOSU, then left, keep your abs contracted and your butt low. Push back to starting position, placing your right arm back up. That’s 1 rep, perform 1-3 sets of 20 reps

Some days are easier to motivate ourselves than others when it comes to exercise, so on the day you are lacking inspiration tell yourself this, "I never regret when I do it, but I regret it when I don’t do it".
