Time to Renew Your Make Up

Here is a quick beauty guide to help you with the correct management of most commonly used makeup products. But first, get this - do not keep cosmetics in the bathroom! High humidity and frequent changes in temperature will play around with your favorite shadows and creams.

Foundations
Foundations usually last between 3 and 6 months. The less water in the composition, the longer it will stay in top form. It’s best to usefoundation from a tube or bottle with an applicator. Foundat ions in jars will spoil sooner if you use your fingers.

Mascaras
Mascara will not last longer than 3 months. And make sure to seal the tube tight after each use, in order to prevent it from drying out prematurely.

Lipsticks
Lipsticks and glosses have a life span of anywhere between 8 months and 2 years. It is best to apply lipstick with a brush or an applicator in order to prevent development of bacteria on it. Besides it’s also easier to apply that way, and will make the colour last longer. An important point to note: Never share lipsticks, because it can easily transfer bacteria from one person to another. Obviously, that is not just unhygienic, but can be dangerous to your health.

Powders
Compact powders, blushes, and pressed shadows are the toughest cosmetic products. If they are kept moisture free, they will serve you well for 3 or even up to 5 years. A point to note: keep and use the compact powder protective film that separates the powder from the puff. It will prevent the transfer of excess oil and sweat from your skin to the product after each use.
Now follow the above guidelines, and you’ll keep your stuff fresh and clean. Also remember to wash and dry well all make up brushes, including mascara wands and lip applicators. Keep unwanted body bacteria at bay, because the health and beauty of your skin is way more important than keeping expensive, fancy cosmetic products on your shelves for years.
