Day 2 - Iris Setlakwe, DUY, Denis Gagnon, UNTTLD
Iris Setlakwe
At the young age of 21, Iris Setlakwe launched her own retail clothing company featuring designs for men and women. Within the next decade her passion for design inspired her to create the Pur label, which eventually morphed into her own label Iris.
Our Top Picks:
This is a beautifully tailored soft grey outfit with heavily embellished shoulder straps. Classy. Elegant. Fun.
Always looking for something stylish to wear to work that will take you from day to evening with ease. Well, here you go.

Hits and Misses:
Very 'Chanel'isque. This pantsuit was a definite hit, but then I'm always a sucker for such styles - bold and dual toned.

While I appreciate the attention to detail on this jacket, the soft shoulders didn't let it shine as much.

Must Have
Seemed simple, yet a stunning and sexy dress this was!

This is a statement piece, let them know you have arrived. Loving the big print flower action on the skirt of this dress.

DUY
Duy studied design at Lasalle College and since graduating has collaborated with the some if the biggest names in fashion. His collections are often described as timeless, luxurious and wearable
Our Top Picks:
An unusual silhouette, superbly crafted. This one is a winner!

Toned down gold double breasted jacket, with white skinnies. What's not to love!

Hits and Misses:
Lots of orange to make life fun; a severe white collar to balance it all.

This was a bit much in the fabric department, too bulky, and too dull I thought.

Must Have:
This sea green works effortlessly with a serious gold fabric to create this stunning piece

This taupe dress in organza and satin, add a peplum for extra drama, and now you know you want it.

Denis Gagnon
Denis Gagnon's affinity with sartorial splendor needs no explanation; the designer has developed a cult-like following. Though we were not too impressed with the show, one can still see genius at work.
Our Top Picks:
This full length body romper looks complicated, but comfortable. My vote for a versatile piece that will make one stand apart in a crowd.

This dress with oversized prints, very chic and very modern.

Hits and Misses:
Leather pants that would style up any old top, a denifite hit. And in this case, the top was quite awesome too.

This grey, black, and white ensemble come together well, very cool indeed.

Must Have:
This grey skirt and bustier-like top with muted drama, is classic, clean, yet very fashionable.

this long grey coat will keep you looking young and preppy.

UNTTLD
Unttld is the collaborative work of Montreal designers José Manuel St-Jacques and Simon Bélanger. In their words, they are "unashamed, unrestrained, untamed" bringing creative freedom to new heights in their designs.
Our Top Picks:
This is how do you catch a flame and pin it down. LOVE.

Army green and black leather, never looked so feminine. Effortless chic.

Hits and Misses:
Mystique and strength, both come through in this show stopper.

Almost a nice outfit, just too much busy-ness, methinks.

Must Have:
These green slim pants and somewhat-halter top are screaming your name. Beautifully crafted pieces.

Statuesque dress in black, classic cut, and organza stripe drama below the waist.

And thus ended an eventful day 2 of the Montreal Fashion Week - 23. Among other things, we were glad to be there when Denis Gagnon broke into his impromptu dance.

We'll post more photos on our facebook page. Meanwhile let me know if my choices work for you.
