The Fashion Society is the new kid on the block, having been around for about a year now. Yet the company has grown relatively fast, thanks to the team that makes up The Fashion Society and the programs they have implemented to propel their growth.

While September is known for being the hottest month in fashion capitals around the world, Montrealers have recently been joining in on the fun too. After Montreal Fashion Week held at its new location L'Arsenal early in the month, and the inaugural Fashion's Night Out in Old Montreal, it was time for the city's first fashion mob. Or, "flashion  mob", as designer Ralph Leroy rightfully called it so, in reference to the original flash mobs that have been popping up in major cities since the early 2000's.

Fashion Week is essentially centered around runway shows for future collections. Last Wednesday evening at the McCord museum, we took a step back in fashion history. Two of the most prestigious designers of the 20^th century were celebrated in brilliant documentaries: “Cristóbal Balenciaga – Endurance in an Ephemeral World” and “Monsieur Hubert de Givenchy”.

The holidays are fast approaching – so much holiday shopping to be done and parties to attend. On that note, most people look forward to their work Holiday party. Saturday night at the Darling Foundry in Old Montreal, the fashion world stumbled down the rabbit hole and into Fashion Wonderland. The collective fashion show, organized by Heels & HeART, benefitted the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada. Young Montreal designers and artists displayed their creations inspired by the characters of the classic Alice In Wonderland tale. The show was critiqued by a renowned panel of judges: womenswear designer Marie Saint-Pierre, menswear designer Dimitri Chris, Janna Zittrer of FLARE magazine, and Joshua and David of the JoshuaDAVID boutique.
