The Romance and Style of Eternal Debauchery

Current Trends
Montreal may be one of the trendiest places on earth – and gradually making its way up the list of reputably fashionable capitals – but it is still relatively mild in temper. If you ignore our occasional raves and the annual Highlights Festival Nuit Blanche in February, you have to admit that there aren’t too many extravaganzas in this city. So what can a girl do when she feels fanciful and wishes to put on her wildest gear in one last tribute to the Enfant Terrible? She grabs the opportunity to attend every outrageous gathering the Montreal Fine Arts Museum’s Eyes Wide Open committee has to offer. And ladies, the 2010 event is a soirée that no one should be allowed to miss.

Eyes Wide Open Soirée 2010This year’s edition marks the third masked soirée of Eyes Wide Open and if past years were any indicators, you better hurry up and reserve your spot now because these tickets are quickly becoming the hottest commodities on the local scene.

After giving us the chance to relive Marie-Antoinette’s decadence in 2008 and to bask in the sultry world of geishas in 2009, the EWO committee is now taking us to a world of darkness with Transangdanse. In addition to being pampered by the generous sponsors who continue to pull all the stops to make guests feel like divas on the road, attendees are in for the exaltation of the castrato Farinelli, the artistic sophistication of Madame de Pompadour, and the thirst, temptation, and vermillion kisses of Count Dracula.

And you just know this evening cannot go sour when you realize that it is designed by François Martin and Jean-François Bouchard of Cirque du Soleil, and Carolina Gallo La Flèche of Ogilvy Canada.
