Going on at your local Holt Renfrew

Current Trends
There’s nothing I hate more than missing a hot happening… except for missing a hot sale. This morning, as I faced yet another blank page, I decided to visit the Holt Renfrew website for some much-needed inspiration. Upon entering, the Michael Kors Spring 2010 collection marquee caught my attention right away. I am a huge MK ambassador. I simply adore the simplicity of his designs, the purity of his colours, and the luxuriously classic flair of his pieces. But this time, I had to pass. With an upcoming trip to the city of lights, I have to preserve my shopping energy.
So instead, I chose to browse the events section; the Montreal events section to be precise. I shouldn’t have. There it was, in front of me, the March calendar of must-attends and with only 8 days left in the month and a pile of work awaiting me, I hadn’t participated in any of them.

Holt store

As a fervent supporter of all of you fashion lovers out there, I decided that it would be best served if I implored you to make your way into Holt over the next few days, instead of letting these golden opportunities go to waste. So here, for you, a list of go-see’s for the rest of the week:

  • MICHAEL Michael Kors Spring Contest: View the MICHAEL Michael Kors collection, and enter to win a Fulton bag from the Spring 2010 Collection. Until March 31.
  • Michael Kors Fall 2010 Trunk Show: Preview the Michael Kors Fall 2010 collection and place your special orders. Until April 1.
  • Guerlain; Terracotta Makeup Event: I’m not the ultimate makeup connoisseur – we have our own expert Christelle Souverbie here for that – but I do know that Terracotta is the landmark of bronzing powders. And this year, guests have a chance to discover Guerlain’s new, seemingly divine Terracotta luminosity. March 26-27.

Valentino Shoes

While you’re there, I hope you take a few moments to bask in the glorious Valentino Spring 2010 Shoes and Handbags collection. It is absolutely breath-taking. If you dare, slip on the last emperor’s open-toe bootie in Nappa leather, pair it with La Perla’s Venice bustier, your hottest boy shorts, and your trendiest, oversized blazer, accessorize to your liking and uniqueness, and dab on a hint of the new CHANEL ROUGE COCO lipstick. That’s the look I would go for, if I had the boldness of my convictions… and of course, the legs to pull it off. But I’ll refrain from putting on such a horror show (you can thank me later), and I’ll instead place the fate of my SS wardrobe in the hands of Holt Renfrew’s Personal Shoppers, as I just found out that it is complimentary after all.

With spring just around the rain corner, it’s time to make that appointment.
